The Carnival Magic is one of Carnival Cruise lines largest ships, and it just came home to Port Canaveral.
The ship, which has undergone a multi-million dollar upgrade, will be the largest of the three Carnival ships based at the Port.
The inaugural cruise had 4,342 passengers and a crew of 1,386. The 1,004 foot long ship has a full capacity of 4,724.
It has a variety of on-board bars and restaurants, as weill as a WaterWorks water park with a 312 foot long water slide.
The Magic will offer two week-long itineraries from Port Canaveral:
- A Western Caribbean route featuring Cozumel, Mexico; Belize; Mahogany Bay (Isla Roatan), Honduras; and Costa Maya, Mexico.
- An Eastern Caribbean route stopping at St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands; San Juan, Puerto Rico; Grand Turk; and Nassau, Bahamas, or Amber Cove, Dominican Republic.
The three Carnival ships, Magic, Valor and Victory, will be providing year-round cruises from the Space Coast. Combined they will carry more than 650,000 passengers a year from Port Canaveral.
Other major cruise lines at Port Canaveral include Disney, Norwegian and Royal Caribbean.
