The Appraisal Institute conducts a program of continuing education for its designated members. MAI’s and SRA’s who meet the minimum standards of this program are awarded periodic educational certificates. John B. Stevely, MAI is certified under this program through December 31, 2017. Mr. Stevely is also an acting Candidate for Designation Advisor within the Appraisal Institute.

I have completed appraisal analyzes of properties based on the fee simple, leasehold and leased fee ownership positions in addition to properties in various stages of their development life cycles including the “As Is”, “As Stabilized” and “As Complete” phases of development. I have also provided opinions of value for a variety of property types including vacant land (consisting of both large and small tracts) with permissible uses including residential, commercial, industrial, etc. along with the vacant tracts having various degrees of entitlements and holding periods. Improved properties I have valued include industrial facilities consisting of warehouses, industrial flex space, manufacturing facilities, distribution centers, paper mills, etc., while also having completed appraisals of office buildings (single-tenant owner/user buildings and larger multi-tenant investment office buildings). Commercial properties I have appraised are comprised of multi-tenant retail centers, self-storage facilities, motels, restaurants, apartment buildings, condominiums, short-term rental communities and subdivisions. These studies have been performed for a variety of clients including lending institutions, non-profit organizations, private individuals, attorneys and governmental entities. In addition to preparing appraisals under the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) and the standards enforced by the Appraisal Institute, I have also aided clients in feasibility studies and market surveys.
