Two companies have announced expanding operations in north Brevard County. Lockheed Martin is expanding its Brevard operation in Cape Canaveral and adding 130 new jobs to support the U.S. Navy’s Trident II D5 Fleet Ballistic Missile program. Embraer announced it was moving a recently acquired California company, now called Embraer Aero Seating Technologies, to Spaceport Commerce Park in Titusville.
That will mean 150 new jobs paying an annual average wage of $48,000. “Take that 280 jobs, and you’ll probably get a multiplier effect of 100 jobs in addition to that,” said Mike Slotkin, associate professor of economics at the Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne.
