Jewel McDonald, CCIM, is a Senior Broker Associate for JM Real Estate, Inc., a commercial property management, leasing, and sales company in Brevard with a current portfolio of approx. 2.5 million square feet and an estimated value of over $300 million. Jewel, a Rollins College graduate, has been in the commercial real estate business for 33 years.

Jewel McDonald began her career in Orlando, Florida, in 1987 working for Equitable Life Insurance Company on a 535,000 sq.ft. industrial project, West Park/ McLeod West. She gained invaluable experience during her four years working for this institutional investor owner. Then, under Metropolitan Life Insurance Company’s ownership, she went on to become the property manager and leasing agent for Melbourne’s largest class “A” high rise office tower, totaling 160,000 sq.ft., Rialto Place Office Tower for over 7 years. During her time there she brought the property up to 100% occupancy, increased the net operating income by over 30% and prepared the property for disposition. During her years at Rialto, she was responsible for noteworthy leases with tenants such as Grumman Melbourne Systems, Merrill Lynch, SunTrust Bank, Dean Mead, The Goldfield Corporation, and State Farm to name a few. She also managed a 61 office executive suite and oversaw its operation, the largest in Brevard County.

Ms. McDonald then went into business for herself forming JM Real Estate, Inc., in 1997 along with her husband of 33 years, Mike McDonald. Jewel’s primary responsibilities were commercial leasing and sales and overseeing the property management operation of the business. Since JM’s inception, they have been involved in millions of square feet of acquisition and disposition of commercial investment properties primarily multi-tenant office and retail type. In addition, the office has been a primary leader in office, retail, medical office, and industrial leasing in the Brevard County area. JM has also been involved in development projects working with developers from the ground up in site selection, design, pre-leasing, construction, to completion, full lease-up, and ultimately disposition spanning the full spectrum of commercial investment real estate.

In 2020, JM’s principles formed a partnership with Tzadik Properties, a much larger company headquartered out of Miami, Florida, in an effort to grow the company, become more streamlined, and stay competitive with today’s technological advancements in commercial property management and brokerage activities. Tzadik’s professionals bring a new level of automation and customer service to the JM team utilizing state of the art IT systems and integrations. Ms. McDonald is now focusing her attention on the leasing and sales side of the business.
