Brevard County was impacted when Governor Scott signed the Budget for the coming fiscal year.
A veto denied the Eastern Florida State College a $15 million project. On the other hand, they were granted $20 million for a health sciences institute.
Among other projects that were vetoed in Brevard are emergency operations center for the county and the city of Cocoa, a $3 million parking garage in Cocoa Village, and a beautification project for the Max Brewer Causeway in Titusville.
These and other projects were rejected because they were local in nature, and not a statewide project, or because they already had alternative sources for funding.
A $700,000 filtration project for the Indian River Lagoon was vetoed, but Brevard is being granted $26 million for other lagoon improvement projects.
